Preparing for Spring - planting and Pruning

PRUNING CITRUS
Over the last couple of days around the new moon of August, we have been pruning the fruit trees. We have noticed the start of some flower buds on the mango trees, the lychee tree, the Longan tree and the citrus. Lots of new growth on the Jackfruit tree also since its major prune early in the year.
Some of the citrus trees have been pruned, cutting away a lot of the branch rot and lower branches. We also cleaned the branches of the fern like vine that inhibits its growth. Two of the citrus beside the jackfruit have been pruned back to bare basics as they suffered a lot of rot. We will see how they recover.

PLANTING
Planted 2 new red papaya under the coral/flame tree.
